5.11 yokohama live report!

hello, hello~ i was lucky enough to have the chance to go to the live yesterday, here is live report for those who care to know! ^^ the concert was really really good, but i was in the back horseshoe of the stadium so i had trouble seeing the members on the actual stage. But anyway, I'll go from the beginning.

I'm lucky because I live near yokohama so it didnt take long to get there, and i was going to try and get there at 5:30 to maybe wait a little while before it opened but i didnt get there until six and there were SO MANY people!! the line to get into the place wrapped all the way around the stadium building 0_0;; there were lots of people trying to buy tickets, then walking two blocks away from them are people selling tickets... i think they should have gotten together or something. ^^;

as i was walking to the stadium, i noticed that someone had put the smile box heads on some of the electrical boxes on the sidewalk...hehe i thought it was really cute.

as for the people, most of them were wearing the tsutaya yellow shirts, the SMILE tour black shirts being sold on the net, hydeist shirts, or just plain black. i didnt really see any real "cosplayers", but in the staduim there were some girls looking like hyde back in the lies and truth "true" days. there were a LOT more guys there than i thought there would be. it was probably 1 to 3 boys to girls. i thought it would have been less.

i got into the stadium (with my camera, but the only picture i got was when they were doing "larva" because the light show was so cool, but all you can see are lights...kinda pointless...^^...i was too busy rockin out to take pics...sorry..^^;;) and the line to buy goods also was soooo long, and i didnt want to miss anything so i went straight to my seat to wait for the live to start. the stadium was pretty much full, but there were empty seats here and there from people who couldnt make it.

on to the live! it started about 20 minutes or so late, but for a live, thats pretty much "on time".

so they all appear on stage and start to play "ready steady go" and they have some fireworks exploding on stage, and everyone's freaking out and dancing. like i said, i couldn't see well and they had screens, but they weren't very big (-_-;) and they were off to the sides, but all i could see was hyde was wearing a black suit (i think pinstripe?). i couldn't see the others behind their instruments.

the stage was really really really cool (except for the fact that the screens on the sides werent big enough...they should have used the one up above in the stadium...). they had these big gigantic screens behind them on the stage stacked on top of each other and each song had some different video/graphics playing on it. they had some really cool laser lights too spinning all around the stadium. sometimes i would forget larc was up there singing and just watch the videos and the lights (ack! gotta pay attention next time!).

next they played lover boy, hyde was dancing and i think he went over to the setups they had off the stage closer to the people on the sides.

for heaven's drive, it was fun because i really knew the lyrics so could sing along properly. hyde was playing guitar, and they played it with a faster tempo than usual.

MC: hyde was saying "hello yokohama! the beginning of our tour as a band in a long time!" then he didnt know what to say, he was like...'uhh" and everyone was screaming his name, and there were two guys next to me about jr high age, and one of them screams out "HYDE!! SUKI KA MO!!!" ("hyde! I think i love you!") and i started laughing really hard...it was hilarious. hyde says "i think yokohama is a really nice country (yeah, he called it a "kuni"), and i think maybe we should play here more often cause lately tokyo is kinda...... well, you guys should separate further from it" and the tokyo people are like "ehhhhhh???!" and he says "aho ya na" ("yeah, I'm stupid" in kansai ben). then he introduces the next song

i can't remember much about coming closer except that the video and lights show for it was really cool. and larc was really cool too.

next, time goes on...don't remember much about time goes on either...whoops. i jsut remember thinking "wow, it sounds so much like pre-ark/ray laruku!"

eien was a really good preformance. they had the image of us flying right above the ocean as he sang, and the sun would appear on the horizon and lights would dash across the screen. he also sang it REALLY REALLY well. i also agree they should take the videos from the beginning of the tour instead of the end when they're tired. it was a really pretty song.

even though the members were off-stage changing, "larva" was REALLLY cool. they had the lasers on full blast and it was crazy to look at. the screens in the back of the stage split open a little and there were lights back there going crazy too.

then they immediately went into butterfly's sleep, and the lasers turned into green butterflies flying all around the stage. i had trouble paying attention to the members again ^^;; it was awesome to hear that song for the first time live..it was pretty cool. hyde came out in black pants/ plain black tank top.

then they did hitomi no juunin, and i think they had a big globe
turning on the screen, and it was funny when they showed tetsu on the
side screens because it was like him jamming on his guitar with the world spinning over his shoulder. the girls in front of me were holding their hands like they were in prayer, and when hyde would hit the high notes (which he did, PERFECTLY) they would grab each other like "oh, good!". ^^;;

MC- i had trouble hearing because by now people were screaming a lot anytime it got quiet at all (and sometimes hyde would respond to some people who were especially loud... like the guys next to me...^^;;;) but i think he asked if everyone was genki, and if we're having fun, and we should go home and say "yokatta de!" ("it was good!" in kansai ben) and he specified saying it *just* like that ^^. then asked if we wanted to hear more and he said in japanese:

"kuchi ni suru!" everyone: "yeah!"
"kuchi ni suru!" everyone: "yeah!!"
"kuchi ni seppun!" everyone:"YEAH!!!"

and the big back screen turned to focus in on hyde (for the FIRST TIME)really close, and everyone started screaming, and he was singing about desire and kissing, and the people around me are like freaking out ^^; then the big screens started to break up into columns and move around in circles on the stage (!). i was like...aww...and we finally had a good close view of em...

driver's high consisted of everyone really having fun, hyde running on stage, and the audience really getting into that "throw your love at laruku with the handmotion thing" that i refuse to really partake in..^^; i give them the rock on sign, or the fist in the air ^^

i think before feeling fine the members briefly left the stage, and they started playing a movie like the one they played in the beginning (CG laruku in suits with the smile boxheads in a spaceship crashing to earth...o_0;;). like, cg laruku doing exercises, or walking in space, or something...some people were laughing, some were luck, "huh?" heh ^^;

feeling fine was cool, they turned up the lights and the screens on the side turned into giant blow up dolls of the boxhead in a suit with the head the screen, and the arm and legs were flailing around. the back screen made me dizzy with this crazy smile face mosaic design...*_*

then they did "honey" (man, i bet they're sick of that song!) and it sounded a lot like GCC, it's not my favorite song, but it was nice to know the lyrics by heart though.

revalation really had everyone going, the lasers were going crazy, and the staduim started to stink more (ha!yeah, i thought "poor laruku up there"). when they say "HEY!" in the chorus, everyone jumped up with their fists in the air at the same time, it looked pretty cool. oh, and when they play "feeling fine" everyone claps along with the funky drum beat.

ibara no namida was COOOOOL of course, because its one of my favorite songs, and they had these HUUGE flames shoot out on stage, it was hella bright and hot. i really enjoyed that song~ then they left!

the audience starts screaming for them not to leave, and we all sit down and start clapping in unison, we do the wave, and it only takes about 10 minutes before tetsu suddenly appears from under the stage. and a banner that says "punk~en~ciel" on it. the yuki on bass on the left, hyde on the left, ken on drums in the back. i could finally see tetsu, he was wearing a scottish plaid print in red/pink/ and blue or green pants and matching skirt ^^ he seemed to really be having fun, being the vocalist running around on stage all over. the song itself only sounds punkish in the chorus, the verses are kinda the same (?!). it was cute though. tetsu is running and hyde steps out in the middle to play the guitar and tetsu stops right in front of him and kinda looks at him and laughs then runs to the other side of the stage. after the song, ken does a CM where he confesses that he's hardly ever played the drums and he tried really hard (you could definitely tell it wasnt yuki!), and it was his first time (but probably not...), then he calls upon yuki, and starts making fun of him for a part where he says "one! two! three! four!" he's like "you practiced that, didn't you?" and yuki's like "uh, not really! like once during the past week..." hehe...poor yuki being made fun of ^^ ken had fun up there with the mic, he was talking for awhile about nothing in particular. then they all go back to their regular positions and hyde starts talking about the new single and he introduces the new single!!

it was good! upbeat, but had the soft moments which is very larc. quite a few falsetto moments for hyde. only problem is the beginning sounds like a mix of several other songs they've done before(?) maybe it was because it was the first time ive heard it. but i am looking forward to hearing it again soon.

STAY AWAY was cool, i love that song... everyone really hyper, the members having fun on stage, i was dancing, it was great.

the last song was "niji", which surprised me, everyone was really sad to hear them say it was the last song. they had blue lights hanging from the stage, and at the end there were feathers everywhere. really pretty.

then it ended! and they all left the stage without really lingering around too long T_T i got in line to buy some goods and it was soooo crowded it took forever to get to the front, but i got a keitai strap of chibi laruku and a "SMILE tour" poster. they had chicken ramen, a yellow jelly bag, larc cans of coffee, towels, cargo pants, tank top, t shirt, a smilehead clock, belt, a little smilehead figurine, and a "ah, don't touch me there!" game (like those games where you put in the pegs and the person who makes everything com jumping out loses). the japanese title is funnny: "sonna toko sawachya iya yo!game"

then there were people selling idol posters outside the train station, and the book store there was playing laruku music and selling laruku magazines and books (like a 1994 shoxx edition they had a ton of for some reason!). the restaurants were all packed with larc fans, it was great. i want to go to ALLLL of them! except the one tonight starts in 20 minutes and im not there...T_T i have tickets for osaka jo on the 10th and the seats are better (i think!). i'm more excited now!

wahhh... i love "smile" so much more now....;_;

Wow, thank you so much for the live report! How I envy you :) I really want to jump and sing along L'arc. I think I would faint or cry hearing Hyde hitting the high notes of Hitomi no juunin perfectly. I can almost faint imagining the voice now ^^;

How's Yukihiro's drumming in the concert? :) I'm usually most impressed by Yuki's drumming when I watch their live recordings.

Thanks so much for sharing this. :) Now, I can't wait for this to be included on the possible DVD of the Smile Tour. ;^_^ I have a question though: How different is the P'Unk~en~Ciel version of Milky Way to the original? I mean, I'm really wondering if it has the same bass tabs. Hehehe.

Yes I was there on the 11th. Didn't you see the people who cosplayed as Hyde, Tetsu, Yuki... I'm not sure if there's Ken cosplayers... before going into the concert?

I've got the arena seat, B block, line 9. Quite good but not good enough! I want the center seat! >_< Oh but I should be grateful to be able being there at all! What about your seat? Good?

[info]plumb76
